MediaModo is an international student competition that cares about human life. MediaModo wants to observe the world from the viewpoint of a single human being instead of faceless economical and social structures.

 

The competition is for all art and media students in universities around the world. MediaModo is organised by the Finnish Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences. The partner schools behind MediaModo are The University of Humanities and Economics (Poland), Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design (Germany), NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences (The Netherlands) and St. Petersburg State Polytechnical University (Russia). The patron of the competition is Peter Sellars, an American theatre director and a professor at UCLA.

 

You can use different kinds of methods to create your piece of work. It should be sent in a digital form and be presentable in an exhibition. Your piece can, for example, be a graphic work, website, video (max. length 10 min.) or a collage. It can even be a speech or music as long as it also includes visual material.

You can sign in for the competition on the MediaModo website. Deadline for the entries is 30^th of April 2010. The pieces of work must be sent by the end of August.

 

The international jury of the competition consists of professionals from the field of media. The jury will select the best pieces of work, and the winners are awarded at a gala at Media Piazza in Helsinki in November. Some of the pieces of work sent to the competition will also be displayed in an exhibition at Media Piazza.
