Educational materials usage rules

Dear Students,

We would like to inform you that the educational materials available for students of Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University such as video recordings of lectures during online courses constitute works within the meaning of the Act on Copyright and Related Rights of the 4th of February 2019 (Journal of Laws 2019, pos. 1231) and therefore they are legally protected, thereby using the above mentioned educational materials should be carried out in compliance with above-mentioned regulations.

It should be noted that students using the educational materials made available by lecturers are personally liable for copyright infringement in case of actions taken that violate the rules laid down in the Act. In particular, we would like to draw your attention to:

1. further dissemination and distribution of the received materials without the consent of the author, in particular to an unrestricted / unauthorized circle of addressees, via the Internet, on the external drive, through the email address outside the domain afm.edu.pl or in a different unprotected way that may lead to copyright infringement;
2. just to be treated the further distribution of the photographs or recordings (copies) of the educational materials made available during the lectures without the consent of the author;
3. as a general rule, it is not permitted under the copyright act and related rights to distribute photographs or films depicting the image of the people: the lecturer, other students and any other third party without obtaining authorisation, unless there are exceptions provided in the copyright rules; consequently the distribution of photographs or films depicting for example multimedia presentations and at the same time the people in the classroom or training room without their consent may lead to an infringement of the law; at the same time, the image is treated as a personal good for man and its protection can be sought in accordance with the rules laid down in the law of civil law; as well as under the general data protection regulation (RODO) due to the fact that it is possible to identify a person.

In view of the above, you should use the educational materials provided in this way that this does not lead to an infringement of the applicable law, in particular the Act on Copyright.
